Slime

© MMVIII version 1.0.3

I have included an article from SLATE that examines Dick Cheney the soon-to-be FORMER Vice President of the U.S.A. Dick Cheney (or just "Dick, you dick") is proof positive of the political theory that asserts that the worst people in any society rise to the top. This rule is only disproved when one believes history as it has been written by the people at the top. Then, only the losers look like psychopaths while the winners, those who have written the only history that exists for the rabble to study, are always portrayed as noble, kind, wise, brave, just and good.

Lord Acton formulated the reason that slime rises to the top: "I cannot accept your canon that we are to judge Pope and King unlike other men with a favourable presumption that they did no wrong. If there is any presumption, it is the other way, against the holders of power, increasing as the power increases. Historic responsibility has to make up for the want of legal responsibility. Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men, even when they exercise influence and not authority: still more when you superadd the tendency or certainty of corruption by authority. There is no worse heresy than that the office sanctifies the holder of it." [1]

It must be added that people rise to the top not merely because they are corrupt: many laudable characteristics are requisite to rise. Study the Scottish play, MacBeth. The Holy Bible, itself, is a long tale which places Israel's king and its established church on one side and The Lord God and His prophets on the other. The prophets were never part of the establishment. Neither was Jesus who is part of the long line of prophets. The Holy Bible, is largely about slime rising to the top and efforts to encourage repentance and reform or bad things will happen. When warnings go unheeded, bad things happen. (Most of that stuff floating on top is not cream, whatever it might say about itself.)

The Lord God knows the difference between cream and slime.

Make no mistake, Dick Cheney is slime. Some people start out decent and then become slime as they rise. Others, like Dick Cheney, were slime even before they acquired power. You can go back to his early career in Wyoming and see what he was doing then. Don't be fooled by the OREO, Barack Obama. The current dreary saga will continue after his Inauguration. It will not CHANGE (Obama's campaign slogan), at least not for the better.

Merry Christmas!
